Privacy Policy

Bermuda is a small place and privacy matters here more than most. We're a small local team and we've tried to build Cahow so it collects as little about you as it can while still working. Here's exactly what happens to your information, in plain English.
What we collect
- Your account details — your email address, and your name if you give us one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google and nothing else.
- Whatever you choose to submit — homes you claim or save, sale prices you add, photos you upload, house names you suggest, rental listings you post, agent directory details, and messages you send through the site.
- Basic anonymous analytics — counts of page visits so we know which pages people find useful. Aggregate numbers, not profiles of you.
What we don't collect
- No payment details. Cahow is free and nothing is charged, so we never ask for a card and never store one.
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone, for any price, ever. We don't share it with marketers or data brokers.
- No advertising trackers. There are no ad networks, no retargeting pixels and no third-party ad cookies on Cahow.
Private sale prices stay private
If you add what you paid for a home and mark it private, that figure is never shown publicly. It doesn't appear on the property page, in search, in a parish page, in any total, or to any other user. It is used only behind the scenes, blended with other data, to sharpen the estimate maths for that area — nobody can read your number back off the site.
And your email address is never visible to other users. Not on your listing, not in your messages, not in the agent directory. If someone contacts you through Cahow they see the name on your account, and that's it.

Who helps us run the site
We use a few well-known services, and only for the jobs listed here:
- Supabase — our database, sign-in system and photo storage. Your account and submissions live here.
- Vercel — hosting. It serves the pages and keeps basic request logs.
- Google — sign-in only, and only if you choose the Google button. We don't use Google for advertising or analytics profiling.
That's the list. Nobody else gets your data unless the law requires it of us.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and your browser's local storage for practical things: keeping you signed in, remembering the homes you've saved or claimed, and showing you the properties you looked at recently. There are no advertising cookies. Clearing your browser storage will simply sign you out and forget your recently viewed list.
How long we keep things
Your account and submissions stay until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Backups may hold copies for a short period after that before they roll off.
Your rights
You can delete your own content in the app at any time — a listing, a photo, a sale price, a house name. You can also ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data outright. Message us on Instagram or Facebook and we'll take care of it. No forms, no runaround.
Children
Cahow isn't directed at children and isn't meant for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from under-16s — if you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works we'll update this page and move the date at the top, and we'll flag anything significant on the site rather than slipping it in quietly.
